ATC : Pumpkins For Sale

It was a dark and starry night...

These pumpkins are so small - they range in size from 3/8" x 1/2" to 5/8" x 1  1/4" !  Because they're so small I had to use the point editing feature on my Silhouette to simplify the swirl and leaf designs so they didn't end up as shreds!

 The patterned papers on this card are from My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Lavender 6X6.  The wooden button and the chippie button are from The Sweetest Thing, also.  That teeny tiny button on top of the chippie button is made by Dress It Up - it's soooo cute!

It's Friday so it's Friends With Flair at Unity!  The "celebrate" on this card is from the Sentiments O' Simple set from a while back.

Card: Creating a Letterpress Background

This week's challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs is to create your own background.

I inked up Spellbinders' "Butterfly" Impressabilities embossing template with Broken China Distress Ink and did a letterpress technique for the tone-on-tone background.  It turned out so pretty - I should do this more often!

Card: My Parents' 60th Anniversary

 Today's card is very special indeed - it's for my parents' 60th wedding anniversary!  I'm also linking it to 2 challenges - Mojo Monday and Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge.  ETA: I'm also linking this to Unity Friends With Flair.  The "Love Cherish Embrace" stamp is from the May 2013 LOL kit.

I sprayed Lindy's Stamp Gang Grab A Guy Gold Starburst on the orange paper and the orange and white print that frames the card.  I guess this is an apt color for this card - my Mom grabbed her guy 60 years ago!  :D

Wednesday Challenge

I finally did it!  After years of wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin' I finally just DID IT!  I started an art journal!  My sister-in-law gave me bunches of paper sample books she got from the print shop where she works.  While looking through them I realized they would make cool and funky art journals.

This week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge was to go dotty!  I flicked and dripped watered down acrylic paint mixed with Pearl Ex onto my work.



The first pages of this sample book are small - these 2 pages together are only 4.25 x 4.75 inches- but the pages get much bigger as the book progresses as you can see in the picture below.  I'm very much looking forward to filling up these pages!  Wish me luck!

Unity Be Inspired Challenge

I created this card with the Unity Be Inspired Challenge for September/October in mind!  I turned the sketch on it's side and set all the elements at an angle to make it a little funky.  

The multi-layered stars (on the black cardstock) and the grid  in the background of "party like a rock star" are from the June 2013 SMAK Kit.  The outlined stars on the small grey tag and the ticket are from the July 2013 SMAK Kit.

The Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge  was to stamp on something other than plain paper or cardstock.  I took a plain white paper flower and made it into somethin' fancy!

TuesdayTrigger

This week I'm participating in Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger.  When I saw the trigger picture the first thing that came to mind was overlapping rectangles in fall colors.  I made this card for my sister-in-law to thank her for the paper and cardstock sample books that she gave me that she got from the printing business where she works.  The entire card, inside and out, was made with paper and cardstock from the sample books and glitzed up with Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mists and Magicals.
