Tag : Blissful

I love pearls - cultured, freshwater, plastic flatback, brads...  The pearl is my birthstone so I guess I come by my love of pearls honestly!  The challenge theme for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is "Anything Goes With Pearls."  I'd have to say that I agree with that sentiment!

Card: Cherish

The letters on this wedding card are the first initials of the bride (t) and groom (r).  The "cherish" charm was originally copper colored but I changed the color by painting over it with a silver leafing pen and then antiquing it with black acrylic paint.  I'm adding this card to this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  The theme is "Wedding or Anniversary."

Card: Love Is Friendship Set To Music

I'm linking this card to 3 challenges this week. The challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is "Emboss It", the challenge at the Silhouette Blog is a Valentine's or love theme (the Silhouette shapes are listed below), and the challenge at Curtain Call is "Love Letter."  As you can see in the close-up, the background behind the sentiment is dry embossed and the sentiment itself is heat embossed with clear embossing powder over brown ink.  The paper is DCWV "Mariposa" - this particular glittered one is just gorgeous!  The butterfly on the inside is fussy cut from the Mariposa paper.

Tag : 12 Tags of 2013 - October

I. Love. Glitter.  That said, I really don't use it that much on my cards but I do use it more on ATCs and tags.  This tag is glitter overload - I love it!  I'm linking this tag to Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013 as well as Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the Silhouette Blog's weekly challenge.  The skeleton and frame is Silhouette design #50114 (Halloween skeleton profile frame.)

This background is so pretty I almost hated to cover it up!

Card: Stitched Snowflake Christmas Card

I love how this turned out!  I'm submitting this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and for the Silhouette Weekly Shape Challenge.  I used Silhouette shapes  #20960 (5 Piece Gift Tag Set) and #14329 (Stitching Templates - Snowflake 3).  I resized the red tag to 2"x3"; I cut out the "Merry Christmas" tag by hand.

Art Journal: October Day

Simon Says Stamp
Wednesday Challenge
I finally did it!  After years of wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin' I finally just DID IT!  I started an art journal!  My sister-in-law gave me bunches of paper sample books she got from the print shop where she works.  While looking through them I realized they would make cool and funky art journals.
This week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge was to go dotty!  I flicked and dripped watered down acrylic paint mixed with Pearl Ex onto my work.

The first pages of this sample book are small - these 2 pages together are only 4.25 x 4.75 inches- but the pages get much bigger as the book progresses as you can see in the picture below.  I'm very much looking forward to filling up these pages!  Wish me luck!
